My Grandma has always been a fashionable lady. She’s not your normal, orthopedic shoes kind of grandma. She’s the get-my-furs-we’re-going-out-designer-shoe-wearing kind of grandma. This fact was made even more apparent on a recent trip home where she let me go through her closet and take out pieces that I could (potentially) sell for her/keep for myself. She’s kept things from every decade. Things that she loved and invested money in… ya know, those quality pieces that you never let go of? Well, the time finally came to clean house and she parted with several things (not before telling me stories of when and where she wore them).
I kept a few things for myself and sold the rest. But, before I did, I had Joa Jean take some photos of me in them. (Thanks Joa!) I plan on sending the photos to my Grandma along with big fat check soon. It got me thinking that maybe I should hold on to a few pieces in my closet for future generations (I’m lookin’ at you Sting T-shirt).
Anyway… photos!

I had a lot of fun with this stuff. Strangely, the thing that I thought was the silliest of the bunch ended up being my favorite. Plaid jumpsuit! Who knew…
(And I just need to say that if I look super awkward in these photos… it’s because I am. Modeling is hard. Default pose—just look down. I’m much happier behind the camera…)

She really liked showing off her shoulder! I also love that you are the same size she was. Too cute. (my grandma used to puffy paint all her sweatshirts with the different seasons. Won’t be selling any of her clothes for lots of money.)
Kimmer, I would pay good money to see your in your Grandma’s puffy paint sweatshirts.
Also, all of these outfits were pinned in the back. Ha! While my grandma and I had the same waist and hips, her… um… bust area was a bit more developed than mine. She also wears a half size smaller shoe than me which sucks because her shoe collection is ca-razy!
ah!! yes! they’re up!
(i might have to do a little posty-post about this too, now) : )
i think you look awesome!…and the fact that you did this for your grandma is the best part of all. so sweet and nice. love love love.
Do it! Post ‘em! I’d love to see your edit. And… thanks again!
(Let’s do more projects together.)
