Saturday morning I had to wake up super early to take my car to the repair shop because the check engine light had come on—three hours later (and a detailed lecture about energy drinks from the juiced up mechanic) I was told there was nothing wrong. Score! Kinda? I mean, the experience only cost me time—and during that time I got caught up on emails and blogs and I stuffed my face full of these…

… at this place!

As it turns out, the juiced up mechanic (we’ll call him Jason because that’s his name) doesn’t just have an extensive knowledge of caffeinated beverages, he also knows a lot about delicious-hole-in-the-wall-breakfast-places. So I strolled down to Maxwells and took a seat at the bar and ordered peanut butter chocolate chip pancakes because I’m an adult and I can do that.

I had a very lovely time sipping my coffee and reading the local rag (I was actually looking for the funnies but I couldn’t find them so I read up on the economy instead. It was considerably less funny than the funnies.). I wanted to take more pictures of the place because it had a lot of character but I already felt like a creep taking the few photos I took. I could feel people watching me… staring… judging…

In conclusion, Maxwell’s is awesome and I’ll be going back again soon. Nice job, Saturday!
